Dr Alison Young
Dr Alison Young is a caring and approachable Clinical Psychologist in the Inner West of Sydney. She creates a safe space for children, teens and families to explore concerns and develop practical strategies.
Alison has more than 10 years of experience working in hospitals and private practice. Her approach is neurodiversity-affirming, working with each individual’s strengths while helping them manage challenges. She has a particular interest in assisting people through anxiety, Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), depression, school stress, tics, excessive hair-pulling or skin-picking, and Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), including parenting support.

Her treatment approach include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Schema Therapy.
Alison trained at the University of Sydney, completing both a Master of Clinical Psychology and a PhD focused on parent–child communication in families with hereditary health risks. She has presented her work nationally and internationally and co-authored research with healthcare and genetic services.
She is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia and is a Board-Approved Supervisor.
